About Our Founder: Michael Wright

Michael Wright brings a unique blend of executive leadership and a deep personal commitment to Sheffield’s revitalization.

Executive Experience and Local Roots

After a thirty-plus year executive career in the media and entertainment industry, Michael returned to his hometown and family roots, which trace back to the 1880s.

 ●      Proven Restorations: He established Ivy Manor Studios, successfully restoring the former Blake residence on River Bluff Drive to its former glory. He recently began his next restoration project at 600 Austin Avenue, the former Marks residence.

●      Civic Engagement: He currently serves on the Historic Sheffield Commission and the Sheffield Planning Commission, and consults for the Sheffield Housing Authority.

●      Commitment to the Vulnerable: Michael’s service on the board of She Is Safe, a ministry dedicated to protecting vulnerable women and girls globally, ties directly to his core belief: that we must all come together to protect the vulnerable among us—including the City of Sheffield itself.

A Personal Vision for Sheffield

Michael’s mission is driven by a profound personal belief in the city's potential.

“Upon my return, I discovered that my hometown was rich with historic significance, which was tragically being eroded by the day. I chose to spend my retirement years here because I wanted to be in a place where one person might truly make a measurable contribution. The restoration of Ivy Manor Studios proved to me that saving our history is possible. I am thrilled with the opportunity that lies in front of The Sheffield Foundation. I believe that together we can save Sheffield’s great historic stories, breathe new life into its phenomenal structures, and fire our citizens with civic pride never before known to this community. Join me today in this important work.”
